A groundbreaking development in supportive living called Weavers Lodge is nearing completion in Castle Cary.

Formerly known as The Hollies on Florida Street, Autonomy Life, part of Autonomy Care Group, are evolving this property from a 17-bed elderly care home into a modern facility comprising six-bed residential homes and a two-bed respite service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Service Manager Nick Rickwood says: ‘Everyone has a need to feel safe, encouraged and valued and we understand that individuals with complex support needs shouldn’t be isolated because of them but rather enabled and supported on a pathway that delivers, for that individual, greater independence, and community inclusion.

‘Our professional assessments and detailed support, delivered through a highly trained and caring staff team, aims to deliver that outcome for everyone who uses our service.’

As work on the lodge moves towards the end stages, Service Manager Nick is hunting for a compassionate and skilled team to help him realise the vision of Weavers Lodge which is set to open its doors in late Spring.
