Textile designer Georgie Faulkner-Bryant has left her shop Decor by Georgie in Salisbury Street, Shaftesbury, to ‘go mobile’ – but not because of any rent increase. It’s because she says she’s become too busy.

‘The trouble with having the shop was that people were coming in all the time and talking to me when I just had too much work I had to get on with,’ she said. ‘I’ve gone mobile simply to have the time to do the creative work I need to do. The shop was only ever a temporary measure in any case.’

The owner of The Big Beautiful Bunting company, who numbers TV’s Kirstie Allsop among her admirers, says she is now busy fulfilling commissions from Ireland to Italy as well as within the UK.

But despite her busy routine she was not too busy last month to be able to supply the bunting that now decorates Shaftesbury town centre.
