vaccine covid GillinghamThe Gillingham Medical Practice says that it has given the Covid vaccine to 10.3 percent of its patients within just two weeks.

‘This is of course in addition to us continuing with “business as usual”,’ the practice said in a statement.

‘Our partners and staff have been working tirelessly to make this happen and we just cannot thank them enough.’

The 10.3 percent figures includes ‘almost all’ of the practice’s care home residents and staff, NHS workers and patients aged 80 or more.

‘We have also made a good start to vaccinating our housebound patients with just 72 visits left to do,’ it added.

The practice said it was starting to invite its patients aged 75 or over to be vaccinated this week, at clinics being held on Friday and Saturday in Sturminster Newton.

‘We are still awaiting confirmation from NHS England that we can hold future clinics at The Olive Bowl. Please do not contact us to book your vaccination – we will contact you as soon as we are able to offer you an appointment,’ the statement concluded.
