Officers from Dorset Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a purse theft in Gillingham and subsequent use of a stolen bank card.

The victim was shopping at Waitrose in Chantry Fields on the morning of Monday 21 October 2019 and realised her purse was missing when she went to pay. One of the cards that had been in her purse was then used in the Co-Op store in Mere at around 1.30pm that same day for a transaction of £24.47.

Inspector Simon Perry, of North Dorset police, said: ‘Officers have been carrying out enquiries into this incident and have made efforts to identify a man captured on CCTV who is believed to have used the stolen card.

‘However, we have so far been unable to identify him and I would urge anyone who knows who he is to please contact us.’
