Gillingham residents are being urged to come and support the local hockey club this weekend as one of its teams competes at home in a national semi-final.
Gillingham Hockey Club is hosting the semi-final of the England Hockey Club Plate, in which its Ladies 2nd team will be battling it out with Eastbourne 3rds for a place in the National Final.
The start of the match or push back on Sunday is 2pm and the contest is taking place at the astro pitch at Gillingham School.
The nearby Gillingham Social Club will be open for refreshments.
Gillingham Hockey says the semi-final is ‘really exciting for our little club’ and says it would love as many local people as possible to come along and support the Ladies 2nd team.
Ladies 2 team coach Kerry Reynolds said: ‘Reaching the semi-finals is a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience of this team. We know it will be a tough match but we’re excited for the opportunity and welcome Eastbourne to Gillingham.’
