Dorest police officers are investigating after reports that a Gillingham woman was punched in the face during an incident in which a car parked in Hyde Road was damaged by a van.
A police spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 9.59am on Wednesday 14 August 2019, to a report of a disturbance on Hyde Road in Gillingham.
‘It was reported that a van reversed into a parked car causing damage to the vehicle. Officers attended but the van driver had already left the area. It is reported that during the incident a woman was punched in the face and chest.’
The spokesperson added: ‘A 28-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries into the incident.’
