North Dorset MP Simon Hoare is to hold a meeting with local constituents this Wednesday 9 October about the issue of climate change.

The meeting, at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton, comes after a group of local people signed a petition calling for a dialogue with Mr Hoare about the ‘climate and environmental crisis’.

One of the petition organisers, Mandy Greenwood from Gillingham, said of the meeting with Simon Hoare: ‘He is expecting to hear about our concerns and any engagement we have with environmental issues. We can ask him if he has plans in any of these areas and what more the Government should be doing.’

And she urged people who are concerned about the issue to go to the 6.30pm meeting.

‘Please do attend whether or not you would like to speak. Let’s show we want to work together to address emergency action which can be taken.’
