Princess Alexandra made two visits by helicopter to Compton Abbas Airfield near Shaftesbury on Tuesday 31 July.

The Princess was on her way to and from several engagements in Cornwall including visiting the Norton Barton Artisan Food Village at Launcells Bude and the Cornwall at War Museum at Davidstow in North Cornwall.

A spokeswoman for Compton Abbas Airfield said: ‘She was a delightful lady and very friendly to all who met her.’
