Two people are currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of theft from a farm at Mere.

Wiltshire Police say they were called to a farm in Mere at approximately 3.45pm on Sunday 17 June following a report that two people had been disturbed attempting to steal metal from a workshop on the site.

The landowner and others at the scene detained a man and woman and police were called.

Officers attended and arrested a 27-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both from Salisbury. They were arrested on suspicion of theft and remain in police custody in Melksham.

Enquiries are currently ongoing.
