A man from Gillingham wanted for breaching the condition of his licence has been arrested.
An appeal was issued by police officers searching for Phillip Torrance, aged 36, who was wanted after failing to comply with the conditions of his licence following his release from prison on Friday 15 March 2019.
Following enquiries, Torrance was located in Weymouth and has been arrested and recalled to prison.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: ‘We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal.’
Police officers are appealing for help from members of the public to locate a wanted man from Gillingham.
Phillip Torrance, aged 36, is wanted in connection with a breach of the conditions of his licence after being released from prison on Friday 15 March 2019.
Phillip is described as white, around six feet tall and of slim build with short brown hair.
Inspector Simon Perry, of North Dorset police, said: ‘We have been carrying out a number of enquiries since yesterday in a bid to locate Phillip Torrance and these efforts remain ongoing.
‘I am now releasing his image in the hope that someone will know of his whereabouts.
‘While we have no information to suggest that he presents a direct risk to members of the public, I would urge anyone who sees Torrance not to approach him but to immediately contact Dorset Police on 999.’
The police say that if a member of the public see Phillip Torrance they should dial 999 immediately. Anyone else with other information should call 101, quoting occurrence number 55190039996 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
