Dorset PoliceDorset Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after two burglaries in the Cemetery Road and Hyde Road area of in Gillingham.

The police say that these incidents occurred at properties that were ‘insecure’ and entry was made through an open window at one property and an insecure door at another. Both incidents happened overnight on Sunday 16 May into Monday 17 May.

A number of items were taken and the police have arrested a local man who is helping with their enquiries.

Police are also reminding residents to ensure that their property is secured especially when unoccupied and to ensure the security of doors and windows at night now the weather is getting warmer.
