VE DayNext week, 5-8 May, marks 80 years since Victory in Europe (VE) Day, when the Second World War came to an end in Europe.

As it was in 1945, the heart of the VE Day celebrations will be focused on commemorating in our communities with the 5th of May being dedicated to community celebrations.

Street parties, picnics, and barbecues will take place and millions across the UK are expected to join in the ‘Great British Food Festival‘ to celebrate 80 years of peace and to remember the many sacrifices made.

If you’re looking for inspiration to get the party going. the official 80th anniversary website offers a wealth of tips and inspiration for party planners including The Big Lunch Guide to Bringing People Together, ideas for food, games and activities, quiz sheets and templates for home-made bunting, flags, posters and party invitations.
