North Dorset District Council is on the hunt for heroes.
The council is urging local residents in the area to nominate people for its Community Hero Awards.
Council chair Councillor Val Pothecary says: ‘We in North Dorset are extremely lucky to have a wealth of volunteers and good, kind, people who are willing to give up their own precious time to help others in the community. Wonderful folk who really do make a difference to the quality of life in our district. Without them our towns and villages would be much the poorer.’
‘I have long held the view that these unsung heroes are the glue that holds our communities together and I would like the opportunity to thank them, on behalf of the District Council.’
She adds: ‘So, I am asking for your help! Do you know someone who lives in North Dorset who you feel is deserving of recognition for their support of others in the community? If so, please complete the Nomination Form. Closing date for nominations is 22nd April 2018.’
Nomination forms (see here) can be printed, completed and posted to Helen Legg, c/o Democratic Services, South Walks House, South Walks, Dorchester DT1 1UZ or emailed to [email protected]
Deadline: 22 April.
