vaccine covid GillinghamA vaccination clinic is being held this Saturday, 20 March, at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton for Gillingham residents who had their first Covid-19 jab in early Janauary.

A spokesperson for Gillingham Medical Practce said: ‘This is only for those patients who received their first dose at Sturminster Newton Medical Centre on Saturday 9 January – our very first vaccination clinic.

‘You should have been given your appointment for Saturday 20 March when you booked your first appointment.’

The practice stressed it was important for people to keep their appointment for the second jab.

‘Reminder letters and texts are being sent out,’ the spokesperson said. ‘If you’re unwell and are unable to keep this appointment please contact us. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is in very limited supply and we will do our best to book you in a future clinic, if and when we are able.’

Gillingham Medical Practice said the majority of people who received their first vaccine on 9 January 2021 were in the 80 and over age group, or were volunteers or front-line health and social care workers.

It says further details will follow regarding any other second doses dates ‘as soon as we have vaccine supply confirmation’.
