Shaftesbury Town Council says it is inviting comments from the public on its budget and strategic plan proposals at a special meeting being held on Tuesday 28 October in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall.
‘Shaftesbury Town Council prides itself in setting careful budgets that align with the public needs and wishes for the town and encourages input from the local community on its priorities and the services they use,’ the council said in a statement.
Shaftesbury Town Council provides eleven services: Allotments, Cemeteries, Children Play Areas, Open Spaces, Swimming Pool, Bins, Bus Shelters, War Memorial, Street Markets, Public Toilets and the Town Hall.
The council says it wants:
– feedback from the local population on their satisfaction with the services currently provided
– ranking of these from highest to lowest priority, as a means of allowing the Council to measure its current and future performance against community needs
– suggestions on improving communication with the general public
– recommendations on areas to improve services
All members of the community are welcome to attend. Following the meeting the information will be made available on the town council’s website and in paper form so that comments can continue to be gathered until 13 December 2019 at which point the views of the community will feed into the final decisions to set the budget for 2020 – 2021.
