Morrisons Daily Shaftesbury
The site of the planned Morrisons Daily store in Shaftesbury.

The opening  of the new Morrisons Daily store in Shaftesbury is now due in January after delays apparently caused by ‘supplier problems’.

The store – the former Budgens – was originally hoping to open in time for Christmas.

Elite Garages, the Sussex-based company behind the development, were in Shaftesbury from 5-6 Nov recruiting some 30 staff for the two stores on the site.

The old store has been divided in two with one half converted into a garage for tyres, MOT and repairs.

Permission has been granted for residential flats on the upper floors.
