We are an FA charter standard club who won Dorset FA club of the year a couple of years ago. We are completely run by local volunteers but we have high standards for our coaches, all of whom are at least FA level 1 or 2 qualified coaches.

We aim to create a welcoming environment for players of all ages and abilities, we will never turn anyone away who wants to play the game! All of our teams play in the Dorset League and we have had a good amount of success over the years, most recently with our under 13s who won the treble last year (division 1, Dorset cup and league cup) as well as our under 11s who recently won the Somerset League fair play award for our players, supporters and coaches conduct and good sportsmanship throughout the season.

We currently have around 200 players from all over Gillingham, Shaftesbury and the surrounding areas, and we have also had players from as far as Sturminster, Blandford and Yeovil coming to join us in recent seasons. We are undergoing another period of growth with lots of new teams starting this year, so are very keen to recruit some new players to help fill these teams.

We train at our home ground in Kington Magna during the summer and then move over the Gillingham school astro turf for the winter.
We have teams for every youth age group from under 8 right through to under 15. But most of our age groups have too many players for just one team, so we have started 2nd teams in lots of age and need a few more players to help boost numbers in the extra teams. Our under 8 team is brand new for this season (currently only five players signed up) and so we are looking for children aged 6 and 7 to help get that team up and running ready for the new season.

Training takes place throughout the week (depending on age group) and the first games start 3 September. If anyone would like more information they can contact me directly at chrislee2530@gmail.com or visit our Facebook page httpss://tr-tr.facebook.com/Gillinghamtownyouthfc.
