Sweaty Mama Westbury, Frome and Gillingham have been running exercise classes online for mums and babies/children to maintain physical and mental fitness throughout lockdown. The workouts are designed specifically for post natal women and their little ones to aid recovery post birth, regain strength and improve cardio vascular endurance.

Classes are choreographed to upbeat, fun music and are a lot of fun. Normally classes run in venues across Westbury, Frome, Warminster and Gillingham, but since Covid-19 hit, they are now running through a live stream on a private Facebook group. As well as the physical benefits, the hour long classes are also great for meeting other like-minded mums and for gaining a community feel.

Rachael Cornish is the franchise owner and has just had her second baby during lockdown. She is enjoying the online classes with her nearly 3 year old, Eve and 9 week old, Josie in order to get back to fitness ready to teach once we go back to face to face classes (with socially distanced measures in place initially). The classes are currently being run by pre- and post-natal qualified sweaty mama instructor Georgina Johnson and her little girl, Harper who has just turned 2.

As well as daytime Sweaty Mama classes on three days of the week, they also offer an evening Mamilates (pilates) class suitable for pre or post natal women which focuses on strengthening the core, pelvic floor and posture as well as improving flexibility alongside relaxation techniques. All four classes are included in a weekly cost of just £7.
