A customer at the Iceland store in Gillingham had a lucky escape on Saturday 28 December when their car drove part way through the wall separating the car park from Le Neubourg Way.

As the photograph below shows, the car, a BMW, ended up lodged in the wall but fortunately the driver was not hurt.

A member of staff at the Iceland store said on Saturday:  ‘All I can say is that it was a customer and that it happened today. I cannot say any more about it.’

One witness told Gillingham News: ‘It looks like they must have pressed the accelerator hard and went up over the embankment and into the wall. Luckily, no one was injured.’
