A further meeting has taken place towards establishing a Momentum group for the Gillingham and Shaftesbury area. The movement, which sprang out of Jeremy Corbyn’s successful bid to be Labour Party leader, says it currently has 150 local groups, a total of 23,000 members and around 200,000 supporters.
The next meeting for anyone interested in joining or wanting to know more about the planned Gillingham and Shaftesbury group will take place from 8pm to 9.30pm on Tuesday 14 November at the Town Hall, School Road, Gillingham SP8 4GR. ‘Once Momentum Gillingham & Shaftesbury is established, we will organise meetings and political discussion,’ says organiser Francesca Cupido.
