Dorset Council Highways has approved the Temporary Closure of Roads for the 2019 Gillingham Carnival on Saturday 5  October.

This prohibits the use of the impacted roads by all except carnival participants and emergency service vehicles.
The Children Procession starts at 15:00 from Gillingham Primary School for this the roads from High Street to end of Queens Street will be closed from 14:50 to 16:15.

The evening Gillingham Carnival events commence at 18:40 with the Parade of Bands, The Road closure at the Queen Street, The square, High Street and Newbury starts at 18:30.

At 19:00 the remaining Road closures at New Road, Part of Le Neubourg way, Bay Road and Fairey Crescent come into place. The Temporary Road closure will gradually be lifted between 20:30 to 21:30. Full details are online: www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roadworks-events

The Gillingham Carnival evening events continue at 19:15, come along to see Traction Engines, Majorettes and the Grand Illuminated Procession.

Gillingham Carnival Committee is an independent voluntary group who organise and run Gillingham Carnival by raising funds through events, donations and street collections, in order to finance the annual Gillingham Carnival processions. Donations put into Gillingham Carnival collection buckets and collection carts shall be gratefully received.
