Detectives investigating reports of an alleged assault where a man sustained stab wounds in Gillingham have charged two men and a teenage girl.

Officers were called at 11.17pm on Sunday 13 May 2018 to the incident in the car park at the Red Lion pub, High Street.

It was reported that the altercation occurred between a group of people and a 25-year-old Gillingham man sustained a stab wound to his chest. He was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

A 24-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both of no fixed abode, have been charged with assault and possession of a bladed article in a public place. A 17-year-old girl from Southampton has been charged with perverting the course of justice and possession of bladed article. All three are due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16 May 2018.

Three local men, aged 25, 41 and 45 and arrested on suspicion of assault, have been released under investigation.

Three local men, aged 20, 22 and 28, who were arrested have been released from the investigation with no further action.
