Every Friday from 8.30am-11am at the Methodist Church Hall (next to Lloyds Bank), High Street Gillingham.
Gillingham Country Market offers a truly local shopping experience and a warm welcome.
We sell genuinely home-produced foods, plants and crafts.
Buy direct from our local producers.
It is a place to meet friends for coffee, home-made cakes and biscuits.

Gardening talk: My Garden – the one I left behind!

Garden designer, Pamela Johnson on the making of the London garden that turned her from an enthusiastic amateur to a professional garden designer. ~
Hosted by Hindon and the Fonthills Women’s Institute, there will be tea and cake, and cheese and wine.

Music and flowers
June 9-11
The Flower and Music Festival in St Michael’s Church, Mere, celebrates the community of Mere with a mix of beautiful floral arrangements and music.
About 40 different small and large businesses, clubs, sports groups and charities, will decorate the church with their floral displays; see them 10am-4pm on Friday and Saturday; noon-4pm on Sunday.
Friday: children from Mere and Gillingham primary schools will perform. 7pm, £5 and children are free.
Saturday: the Farrant Singers, a chamber choir from Salisbury will perform music according to the theme, All the Queen’s Men, a fictional account of the travels of Elizabeth I through the shires. 7.30pm, £10.
Sunday: the Bishop of Salisbury will take the 10.30am service, and the festival will close with Songs of Praise at 4.30pm.

Gardening talk – Low maintenance gardens
A speaker from Castle Gardens, Sherborne, on achieving a garden that is easy to maintain. Hosted by Mere Gardening Club.

Looks around lovely private gardens. Twelve will be open with two offering afternoon tea.
2-5pm. Programmes from the Library beforehand and in the Square under the Clock Tower on the weekend mornings. £5 per adult, accompanied children free.
