Witness appeal following assault on hunt supporter in North Dorset

Officers investigating an assault on a hunt supporter in North Dorset are issuing an image of the suspect.

The suspect police want to question over the assault.

The incident occurred at around 3pm on Saturday 24 March 2018 in the area of Tarrant Gunville near Blandford.

The victim, a woman aged in her 40s, was walking past a green Land Rover when a man linked to the vehicle struck her over the head with a handheld device, possibly a camera.

The victim sustained a head injury that required hospital treatment.

Police Constable Dave Mullins, of North Dorset police, said: ‘This assault left the victim with a nasty injury and we have been making ongoing enquiries into this incident.

‘We have obtained an image from video footage taken on the day of the man suspected of being responsible and have made efforts to identify him but have so far been unsuccessful. I am now releasing the photo in the hope that someone might be able to identify him.’
