Wiltshire police say their enquiries are continuing after 11 people were found in the back of a lorry in West Knoyle yesterday afternoon, 2 December.

The police were called to the A303 shortly after 2.15pm following a call from a concerned member of the public who heard banging from inside a lorry.

After some assistance from colleagues at Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, 11 people were located in the back of the lorry.

These included three children under the age of 15 and eight other people who were all checked over by paramedics at the scene.

‘We are currently working with colleagues from the Home Office Immigration Department as our enquiries progress,’ said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.

‘Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 and quote log number 160 of December 2.’
