The Mayor of Gillingham and Pioneer Minister the Revd Eve Pegler have launched a ‘Christmas Story’ competition aimed at primary schools in the Gillingham area.
The contest is open to any child of primary school age and involves writing ‘A Christmas Story’ of no more than 500 words.
The closing date for entries is Friday December 8.
Entry forms are available from local primary schools, the town’s library and Gillingham’s town hall.

The winner will be announced on Sunday 17 December at the Civic Carol Service which begins at 2.30pm.
The winning story will be published in Gillingham & Shaftesbury News and some of the stories entered will be displayed at the library.
